Practice and a good safety belt. I use a linemans safety belt when putting hang on stands and pegs in

If allowed use a screw on step just under where u plan to hang the stand. It will help hold it up while locking it on.

What I do is put the tree pegs in the try and go up to where you want and then pull the treestand up with a rope and secure it with 2 ratchet strapes. Then you can just use the rope you pulled it up with to pull your bow up when you are hunting.

First off buy a millenium because of the seperate chain mounting system they've got and because of how comfortable they are. Put the footpegs in first, like i think you've already done, and then put the chain on the tree just over a foot peg. Go down and grab your stand and slide it in the mount. Easy as pie and it'll be the most comfortable stand you'll ever sit in. I was given one from a buddy that I recently invited to hunt my land and I love it.
