In the Southern Regions of the U.S., the deer usually won't touch turnips until after a good frost has fell on them and the "bitterness" goes away. This is the wrong time of the year to try to get turnips to grow. Southern peas and soybean is what is needed to be planted this time of the year where I am at. It is hard to compete with the natural browse that is starting to perk up here now.
