So I ate my first rabbit yesterday. he happened to be in the yard the day before and i got hime with a .22. These things taste great. I just fried it in a pan a little tougher than chicken but kinda the same texture. If anyone has any good recipes for them please post them.

I have come to surmise that the cuter the animal the better it tastes. Oh look free kittens......

Rabbit is awesome. I like to boil it off the bone and then add bbq sauce. Put it in the oven covered up for about 30 minutes just to get the sauce into the meat.

My favorite is to take the little backstraps and cut them into nugget sized pieces. I soak them in a marinade, roll them in flour, dip them in egg and roll in flour again. Deep fry until they float... Yummy.

I love fried or grilled rabbit, we had cottontails on our dairy farm when I was a kid and loved hunting them, especially in the snow.

I was shocked back when I went into the military and when stationed at my first base and they served rabbit at chow about once every 2-3 weeks.

I was about the only one that would eat it, the majority of people turned up thier noses at it and would just get a burger or whatever was available.
