There are variables to consider when picking a plot mix
Some plot mixes are geneticaly formulated to work in wet soils, others work best in dry soils or land that has good drainage from heavy rains.
Some are annuals and will die that first winter so you should only plant those in the spring and you must replant those each spring, some other plot mixes have perennials so you can plant them spring or fall and they will likely live for 4-5 years before replanting is necessary if you fertilize and kill weeds, lime if needed, etc. to help them grow well and survive the winters.
So what plot mix is best to plant is going to depend on your weather in your area and the type soil you have and the growing season.
My advice is to do a google search on (Deer Plot Mixes) and do some reading on the hits, you should find that on some blends of plot mixes they will say what type land the seed is good for and some may say not to use it in wet soils. etc.
One in particular (The Whitetail Institute) is extreemly informative and once you figure out which seed blend will work best in your area they will even give you a small free sample to try if you pay shipping.
Its only enough for a little plot but if you follow the instructions and you will be able to see if it does well on your land and type of soil and they will even answer questions that you have.
