What do you do, besides hunt??

Postby Bucknut » Tue Mar 24, 2009 12:34 pm

As for me, I hunt when I'm not hunting. it's all I think about, besides my family. I also like other shooting sports, ie: Trap, Skeet, sporting clays and archery.
now that hunting is mostly over (turkey soon!!) I was wondering what everyone likes to do. Post a pic or a comment if ya want.
Me, it's all about bikes. The frequent hospital trips are just the cost for fun.

When I'm not hunting I'm sleeping, lol just kidding.

I'm either working or I'm attending Legion business (I'm a post commander), I'm also involved in shooting matches with muzzleloaders.
I don't kill innocent animals, just the ones that look guilty.

Right now i'm in highschool so my life besides hunting and fishing is pretty much running. I run crosscountry and track and indoor track. I usually run 70-75 miles a week. I'm probablly going to college to run for Lake Superior State University (michigan).

When Im not hunting Im either working, fishing, working on my house or camper, camping or spending time with my daughter. I bought her a 4 wheeler last year, so I am seriously considering getting a new one for myself and getting back into riding again. I raced a bit and rode alot when I was younger and she loves it, so I figure now is as good a time as any to get back into it after a 5 year hiatus.

I fish, a lot, a hell of a lot. My son is just now old enough to go with me so we're having a blast fishing together.

I tell you what it's hard for me not to get excited about hunting. Every time I think about it I get a grin on my face. But in the mean time I work on exotic cars and own a few of them myself. When I am not doing that I have a small business building web sites.. I mostly concentrate on Ferrari, Vipers and Lamborghinis. I like staying with those group of cars because I know them well and they are always fun to look at I do this out of my home garage. Getting ready to build a larger garage but honestly it's not as exciting as hunting!

As you can tell I am a car nut!! My neighbors think I sell *. :)

I hunt more than i fish. But in the off season i fish a lot. I bought a kayak last year. Kayak fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is my favorite thing when it comes to fishing. It feels great to be out there a 2 to 4 miles off coasting being dragged around by some awesome fish. I specifically like king mackerel, man those suckers can fight.

I work at a locally owned outdoor store. I love it, it puts me right where I want to be. The only problem is getting my paycheck to the bank. :D

I'm a service plumber by day. and with my down time I rebuild motorcycles. I finish my bike about six months ago. It was a POS I found leaning against a pine tree stump. Took me some time but now it's a working machine that moves down the roadway.

Aside from hunt

Postby 1wisehunter » Wed Oct 14, 2009 6:39 am

All outdoors stuff, camping, trekking, biking.
Hunting is my fave, it has a challenge for me.
Other things are rather laid back, I want to hunt.

Well Bucknut, for me, the timing couldn't be better. The South Carolina "Low Country", down around Beaufort and Parris Island, is my home away from home when its not deer season here in North Carolina.

The South Carolina Shrimp Baiting Season starts on Sept. 15th and runs until Nov. 15th. ...(Then its back to N.C. for deer hunting !)

Right after the N.C. deer season is over, I head back to South Carolina as soon as I can because its time to start picking oysters and clams ! ....And the Redfish are always around too !

Then, before you know it, its time for N.C. Turkey hunting !

For me, there is ALWAYS something going on. I even go crow shooting when nothing else is happening. For me, there's just not enough days in the year.

Live life like there's no tomorrow ! ..... I do !

My wife and I love to go fishing when hunting season is closed. We also ride around on our motorcycle in summer months and raise a large garden and have numerous flowerbeds, all of which need constant (it seems) attention. We also have about 16 (lost count) grandkids. In the evenings we often just take a ride to look at the gorgeous countryside and see what critters are out and about. We have two cats and an English Setter that also need lots of love and attention.
