What do you think about the PSE Thunderbolt X Compound Bow?

Postby silvergts1998 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 7:00 pm

I recently went to BassPro and picked up a PSE THunderbolt X Compound bow set up. It cam with the arrow rest (looks like brush inside a circle.) Sites, quiver, peep site and silencer on the bow and string. I paid about $699.00 for it. Not sure if I got a good deal or not.

I haven't sot a bow since the mid 80's and never shot a deer with one either. I went hunting this season for the first time and bagged 1 buck and four other deer with a shotgun and a 30-06 rifle. I plan on going muzzle loader soon. I decided to get the bow so I would be a complete hunter. LOL!

So is this bow considered a good bow that will last me a while?
It's different from my old compount bow and the limbs are almost paralell to eachother which I was told that was a good thing? quieter?

So I have 3 pins. How far should I set these pins at? I am shooting at about 65lbs with carbon arrows and 100 grain point.

Thanks for your opinions!

One thing I noticed is that the string is a little frayed, not much but going to take it back for them to look at. I wouldn't want this thing snapping on me.

Here's some pictures. What do you guys think of this whisker bisket arrow holder? Is it bad? Does it effect the accuracy and flight of the arrow?

Nice looking bow. The bisket will work just fine and won't affect accuracy much at all. If the string is frayed take it back.

anything pse makes is a great product!! the wisker biscuit is the only arrow rest i will ever use.your string probably just needs some wax from the looks of the pictures and yes that bow will last you for many years unless you just get an itch for a new one!!!!!

I think I am going to get rid of the bisket holder and go with this one. What do you think? I heard great reviews on it.

I prefer a drop away over the bisket. Check out what ever rest you decide on before buying it. I'm have not seen that one in person or seen it shot I know some of the older Trophy Takers were noisy
