type of muzzle loader

Postby xxhotcoffee » Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:32 am

Hi, I have shot two kinds of muzzle loaders,
a ky longrifle 45 cal from cva, and my present rifle, a TC Grey Hawk 50 cal, with stainless steel barrels.
I have to say, I love this gun! It has a composite stock, and it is very good looking. I bought it used, and I got a real deal on it, I think.....Im very satisfied. Its a side lock percussion....and I dont think I will ever use anything else, I even using it for modenr gun season, which starts tomorrow!
I think it all depends on what feels good to you, when I saw this gun, I knew it was mine....lol
when I shot it, I knew I was right.

i have a CVA StagHorn, and i picked it up a few years ago for around 125, with the starter kit.

its a good starter muzzleloader, my dad has a CVA as well but im unsure of the model of it. but between the 2 of us, they have plenty of power, very accurate out of the box, and reliable,

just stay away from sabbot lead.

its been 2 years since i bought lead, but i believe its called aerotips, kinda expensive (in respect to the sabbots) but they are a heck of a lot eaiser to load and alot more accurate.
