Allright im new to the forum but not new to hunting, but i have no clue what these animals may be. One looks like a deer, yet it is really short and fat. I dont see a rack or a tail and the ears are kind of flopped over like a pig. The other one looks like a little dog with a collar around his neck. But there are no houses around my hunting spot within 800 yards. I have never seen dogs that look like these around my house. Could they be some kind of wild animal? I live in the piedmont area of NC if that helps...thanks

The corn pile isnt that big and it is not 50 pounds. Maybe around 20ish.

and this picture is just for a reference so you guys can see how big the animal would be

Yep, the one with it's rear towards you is a yellow lab and the other one appears to be a mutt. 800 yards isn't far for a dog to wander.

dog will pretty much eat anything, and roll in it also, and that looks like what the one is doing.

Most dog food has a corn or grain base and then oils and flavoring are added in. By the way, cougars definitely do not eat corn. They are strictly carnivores.

When did cougars start wearing red dog collars? Also kwack is right on with the type dogs they are. It's not uncommon for outdoor dogs to range a couple of miles from home...
