What to read?

Postby ddog27 » Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:34 am

I have to take a trip to North Carolina in a few weeks and I need something to read while I am on the 4 hour flight. What hunting magazines or books would you recommend?

If you like fiction, any of the books by Michael Connelly are good --- they're mostly about a homicide detective with the LAPD as he follows cases.

Tom Clancy is my favorite for military/political fiction.

Patrick Robinson does good submarine war games fiction.

Good luck!

Ernest Hemingway, if you can understand some of his work. He used to drink a lot when he wrote so some of it may not make any sense. He drank a llllooottt. Other than that stick with a classic, if you haven't read Huckleberry Finn, you should, great book. If you have read it, read it again. I find something new and funnier every time I read it.

But then I have heard about a new book coming out by some guy named Doc Holidoo or something, the book is titled "The Definitive Cat Hunters Guide to Bagging a Big Tabby". He aslo wrote "The More Than One Way to Skin a Cat, Cat Skinning Pamphlet", Good reading as I've heard. :)

just to let ya'll know, "The Definitive Cat Hunters Guide to Bagging a Big Tabby" is going to be on the BFE's top seller list. also a good read is a book called "When and where to bag a record book cat! A hunters guide to Wisconsin."

i like Tom Clancey, Edgar Allen Poe, Mark Twain. I also have a few about hunting that make for fine reading. "Whitetail Strategies, A no-nonsense approach to successful deer hunting." by Peter Fiduccia. I got it at Wal-Mart for $10 i think.
