when is too late to hunt a scarpe line that is overlapped by

Postby ktor1096AD » Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:38 am

I have found a big rub and a line of big scrapes that overlap each other about a mile back in the woods, high on the mountain in a and around a loggin bed. there are not many acorns around the scapes but alot of those little fox grapes and the deer seem to be eating them.....droppings in one of the scrapes and a couple of ivy thickets and a tangle of thick vines not far away...the scrape and rub line in the logging bed is on a ridge that runs right down by a big open flat(in the middle of no where) but the falt is full of poplar trees and not many oaks....am i wasting my time hunting this scrape and rubline late season??? sure would appreciate the help

We are waiting for our second rut to kick in here in the flat land. Never had too much luck hunting scrapes in the late season, just tells you where the deer have been. I'd feel better hunting any available food soarce you have .....hunt the does and maybe a buck will show up. Just my $.02 Good Luck!

Our second rut is over...but...if the scrape stays cleared he is still using that trail. Hunt it if there is sign.
