Where are the Deer

Postby BIGGAME » Tue Nov 22, 2011 9:08 am

This has to be the strangest season I have ever hunted. I have talked with other friends of mine that hunt as well and they all have the same issue.
At the begining of the year we were getting great pictures of deer in the area and they would be there when we would hunt. We let the deer pass unless they are 4 points on one side and then does after the rut. Now we don't see anything!?!?!?!?!!?
I hunt in North Carolina and I was wondering if the weather or something might have happened to cause the deer to just not be there. I have hunted for over 15 years and this is the first I have ever see of this. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I live in oklahoma most of the rifle season has been warmer than normal and very windy, the first 4 days i was seeing lots of deer but passed up several nice bucks waiting on a 12 point i had seen while scouting, it seems like the deer just disappeard i haven't seen a single deer the last three days and i've put in about 20 hrs of hunting, don't know where they went but i hope they come back before next weekend, kick myself in the but for passing up a nice 8pt earlier this week

Usually weather is a major factor. It was unseasonably warm here in ND so the deer movement was down. Luckily our crops were off early this year that helped out big time. But we also noticed towards the last week of rifle the deer we had been seeing were no longer around.
I think they smarten up and find spots that aren't hunted and also get in behind farm yards.

Our rut happened (W.Ontario) in the middle of the FULL MOON, with above average temperatures. We got bucks, but really had to work to bag them!!
