Where to hunt D7

Hey guys,
I have never deer hunted in California before. I live in Fresno and have been here 20 years. I grew up in Oregon hunting the muleys is the N.E. corner of Oregon. I finally got my license here in CA and would like to take my daughter on her first deer hunt.
I know the Courtwright/Wishon and Huntington lake area real well. Looks like great deer hunting but I havn't heard alot of talk of getting many deer up there.
Without giving away your favorite place can anyone give me some advice as to where would be a good place to take my daughter so that she may actually see some deer and maybe get a shot at a buck.

We are not afraid to hike in and don't need the trophy's this year just more of a good experience for my daughter's first trip.

You might check out the Dinky Creek area. I'm a bit South of you and have not hunted in many years either. Kind of looking for a hunting partner now. I have hunted in the area North of Lake Isabella, but in Tulare County. But it has been close to ten years.

Thank you very much jdbark1952. I appreciate the info. I have been to the Dinkey Creek area but mainly on the creek itself. I will scout that area out this summer. Thanks again for taking the time to post.

Missed a buck at very close range DOH! in D7 on the archery opener. There are deer in them thar hills allright, I just need to shoot better.
