Whisker Biscuit

Postby NYBuckhunter » Fri Jul 24, 2009 12:24 pm

I am getting ready to get a whisker biscuit for my bow, but dont know which one I need to get. I know I need a right hand one, but do I get a regular Quick Shot or a Drop Tine? I just dont want to get the wrong one and then have to buy a different one and screw around with eBaying the first one.

My bow is a PSE Octane BTW

I have used both kinds. I prefer the notched one by far.. because its just as accurate as the solid biscut and its easier to change arrows in the stand if say a turkey or coyote stroll by and you need to switch the type of point. I've dropped my bow from the stand 2-3 times now and each time that WB has stayed in place.

Both the drop tine and the quick shot are notched, the difference is in the mount.

The QS or Quick Shot is the Bisquit, it means it has the notch or slot in the upper corner so you can quickly drop an arrow into the rest instead of guiding it through like you must do on the closed 'full circle' Bisquit.

As far as mounts the difference is the old original straight mount or the newer drop down mount, i'm not sure which you need for your bow. The difference is that on some bows the old original straight mount will mean the bow owner may have to move their 'release loop, peep sight and kisser but the drop down mount will remedy that problem and allows them to leave those items where they were.

Also there are at least two different companies that I know of that make mounts for the Bisquit rests, the 'Drop Tine' is a mount made by Carolina Archery and both the below make straight and drop down Bisquit mounts with some different features and looks.

Carolina Archery
Trophy Ridge

On your mentioning LH or RH, the Trophy Ridge brand makes Bisquit mounts that are universal.

Just in case you haven't looked at them the Bisquits themselves also come with different center hole sizes for the various diameter of the arrows.

Thanks. I know about the sizes, I am going to get the medium size, which is for the typical carbon arrows. I think Im going to get the drop tine mount, its only a few bucks more and in alot more adjustable.

You put the biscuit on your bow yet? If you haven't I know of a better rest and I have shot the whisker biscuit and this other. It's called the Hostage by Octane. You can pick one up for $40.00. It shoots a heck of a lot better than the biscuit.

My son shoots the Hostage and really likes it. He took his 1st P&Y with it last October. He is very accurate and deadly with it.

I would also suggest one with adjustment marks. Makes it easier to tune and keep aligned.
