WMA's near Spotsylvania

Postby avas1014 » Wed Oct 05, 2011 7:56 pm

Hey everyone,

Just moved to Spotsylvania area not too long ago and I'm looking around for some good places for deer. Right now, WMAs seem to the be the best option since I haven't found a club or anything yet. I've heard CF Phelps is good for deer but can get a little crowded. I was wondering if any had found success at Rapidan WMA lately with deer. I'm planning to get out to scout each in the next few weekends, but haven't had the time yet since I moved. Was just wondering if anyone had any feedback on these two spots.

Thanks,
Alex

Phelps is very crowded. I would try rapid, there are a good bit of bear up there as well and they consistently pull out some really mice bucks. Also, try pettigrew in Caroline if you are on that side of spotsy.
