Young hunters

Postby PSE » Thu Nov 11, 2004 5:51 pm

Im a 15 year old h.s. student in north Kentucky and wonder if you all get your non hunting friends started in hunting. I have more friends that have never touched a bow in their life, and friends that shoot a bow every day. One of the most important things that we can do as sportsman is introduce others to the outdoors. Whether it be hunting, fishing, or trap shooting. Some of my friends were anti hunters when I first met them. And every single one of them now supports hunting and have been on at least 2 trips with me. My oppinion is to get a new face in the outdoors for every deer you kill. GIVE BACK TO THE SPORT! ITS TO GREAT TO LOSE TO LIBERALS!

I'm glad to hear someone so young have such a good attitude towards this sport.

I'm an old geezer near 50 and hunted since I was 6. I've always tried to get my friends interested in the sport and let them tag along. At 17 I helped a friend of mine go deer hunting for the first time and set him up to take the largest deer I've ever seen to this day. I got as much thrill and exitement from helping him as for any deer I've ever taken personally.
My eyes focus forward like all predators so I know I was born to hunt.

Great job PSE. Keep it up. Some people will never understand our love of hunting, but always find ways to get those who are interested in the woods. It also helps to demonstrate and practice good ethics no matter who is involved.

Take care, have a great season!

it's hard around here to get some of your friends to hunt, being a 16 yr. old girl most of my friends think that you have to be a tom boy to hunt, but i would have to disagree.
hunting is my lifeee. :)
