I was just there looking at videos and it was quite disturbing! I saw videos of headshot deer, poor shooting, shooting out of vehicles, multiple deer with 1 shot. This is not the kind of thing that we as responsible hunters should be doing. IF our sport is to survive without the people who really have no opionion of hunting turning against us, this kind of thing has to stop. Our numbers are shrinking every year, we cannot afford to turn this into a public relations nightmare, we are feeding our own demise.

You got that right, but its called freedom of speech or freedom of expression.... which ever. The only thing you can do is like everyone else that has watched the video and let them know how you feel about there actions in the comments.

Then you have those animal rights activists that will group together and cut you as a hunter down more than they cut the unethical hunter that posted the video down.....

You cant do anything about it,,,but as ethical hunters we need to step back and keep in mind that other people out there are really going to go nuts about this kind of thing. We need to keep in mind that we may offend people that are not necessarily against hunting, and push them exactly that way

We also need to do what each of us can to teach beginners and other hunters 'the ones that will listen' to hunt in a safer and more ethical way when we get the oportunity.

Many older hunters get set in their own way and path and there's not much can be done for most of those people but when we get the chance we should explain to new hunters why hunting is getting a bad name and explain what they can do 'and not do' to help try to help prevent that.

Its great when we take kids out hunting but its extreemly important to explain to them why we don't believe in poaching or breaking fish and game rules, laws, etc.

I def agree with you guys that those things should not be promoted. I am a young man 25 years old. I can say throughout highschool and growin up I was taught to aim for vitals and things like that . However I can say back when me and some buddies first started driving and bein able to go hunt and got involved in hunting on our own thats when we started spot lighting and shootin at night. Now I def would never do that and I dont agree with it but when i was younger it was the thrill of hunting and shooting a deer. I know some will bash me for saying that but as I look back it wasnt that we meant to break the law or do anything bad it was us being excited about hunting and at that time not realizing it was wrong or understanding why it was wrong. It was us bein enthused about the sport and just using our enthusiasim in the wrong way.

I said all that to say this...if you have kids try to teach them reasons its wrong and why its bad rather than just the general point of being wrong and give them some ways to use that enthusiasim such as trackin deer, setting up their own stands and makin food plots.

FL,,,nobody is going to bash you for admitting you made mistakes when you were younger, especially when you say you learned from it. Thats whats called learning from your experience. We have all had poor judgement at one time or another, its just a matter of learning from it.

Thats a double edged sword on when the get caught. Its good that they get caught and pay for what they do,,but the bad publicity on hunting and "hunters" is bad for us all.
