There is nothing wrong with getting a used bow. I would recamend that you contact the owner so you can see and fell it yourself. It is very important that you are comfortable with it. I myself would prefer to shoot the bow before purchasing it also.

There are many different routes you can take. You have to set it to your draw length and set the poundage you want to pull.
Then there is your anchor point, you can use a kisser button.
You have to see what type of peep sight you like. I would prefer one with a large hole for hunting so you can see in low light.
Next is your sights. You can choose from pendilum or a fixed pin.
Also you can choose between carbon arrows or aluminum.
I would definetly try to get some kind of noise nd vibration dampening system like the limb saver.
I f you have any questions just ask me. I bow hunt from septembet 1st to january 31st in delaware and maryland.

I started with a 250 dollar pse from cabelas and equiped it the best I could afford. I have since then had only one other bow and it cost me over 1,000 dollars to set up.

I have been bow hunting for 10 years and will never quit. You have made a good choice by trying the sport. Its alot more challenging. The first time you go and see deer you will be hooked. It also gives you alot more time in the woods.

Hi folks,
I agree 100% a used bow is a good way to get started for a reasonable price. Some folks who don't shoot much might sell a 5 year old bow that has less than 1000 launches on it. And 5 years ago a state of the art bow is still respectable by todays standard. Up until this year I shot a 17 year old Darton and it will still kill deer with the best of them. This year I cashed in my .357 for a Pearson Pride. I'm stil tuning it in, but I love this bow!
